Hello
Sophia Castellano
About Me
Hello, I'm Sophia. I'm a person-centred trainee counsellor in the final stages of a PgDip at the University of Salford.

Before training, I spent several years working in charity and community services alongside people facing severe mental health difficulties, multiple disadvantage, learning disabilities and neurodivergence. That experience forms the depth, warmth and understanding I bring to every session.
You may arrive to counselling carrying something specific like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship pain - or simply a sense that something isn't quite right, even if you can't name it yet. Whatever it is, we can explore it together, at your pace, in a space where you don't have to perform or have it figured out. A space where you are met, just as you are, with empathy, acceptance and honesty, the very heart of the person-centred approach. Central to this, is the belief that we all hold an innate drive towards growth and healing, but life has a way of obscuring it. Often without realising, we absorb messages that our worth depends on certain conditions placed on us by our culture, society, caregivers or others close to us. Over time these messages can quietly pull us away from our deeper, truer sense of who we really are, beneath all the noise.
Working in a trauma informed way, I will walk alongside you, safely and collaboratively, as you find your way back to yourself.
