About Me

I work online and from my consulting room within a historic building in the centre of
Stockport. I see individuals in longer-term once weekly psychotherapy, and also couples,
families, and groups for counselling.

My therapeutic approach draws on Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic principles
with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I pay close attention to what may be
unfolding, both consciously and unconsciously, between us in the room, as this often can hold
key insights into your inner world. Our work together would be active and collaborative.
We’ll explore how you have come to understand your life experiences, paying particular
attention to how your past may be influencing the ways in which you are currently living
your life. Through this process, we can begin to make sense of your story and create space for
meaningful awareness and change.

Since 2022, I have worked within the third sector providing low-cost / free counselling for a
charity based in the South of England. In addition to this I offer therapeutic services to a
number of different organisations, including employee assistance programmes (EAPs).
Alongside my clinical work I am a lecturer at a university where I teach students, ranging
from levels four to six, integrative counselling. I am also an associate trainer on a
Transactional Analysis training course. Previously I worked in, and volunteered for, several
charities across the North West and South of England providing both short and longer term
counselling. Over the course of these roles I have worked with a broad range of specialist
populations including asylum seekers and refugees, LGBTQ+ people, activists, and those
experiencing chronic and enduring illness.
